Link building is an essential element of search engine optimisation – as changes to Google’s algorithm now favour websites that are:

Well established (typically over 3 years old with regular traffic)

Have mature and gradually increasing number of relevant inbound links into the site – indicating that the site is important in that sector

Reciprocal links have limited value, making the need for pro-active linking strategy more important

Google will only recognises some of the more important links into your site and will only update its database (and your Page Rank) quarterly

Link building is time-consuming, a long-term project and can be costly – however without it your optimisation could fail!
